Deleting your account and data
You can delete your Natter account and everything tied to it at any time. Here’s how, and exactly what happens.
Delete through the app
Open Natter and go to Settings → Delete account. You’ll be asked to type DELETE to confirm, then tap “Delete my account.” This is permanent and takes effect immediately — there is no grace period and it cannot be undone.
If you can’t access the app
If you’ve lost access to the app or your device, email us at info@natterlife.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We’ll verify it’s you and complete the deletion.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your profile and onboarding answers
- Every conversation with Cove
- The things Cove remembers about you (your saved memories)
- Your tasks and your roundups
Deletion cascades across our systems, so your full footprint in our database is removed — we don’t keep a hidden copy.
Your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Because billing is handled by Apple or Google, cancel it in your device’s subscription settings (App Store or Google Play) to stop future charges.
What we retain, and for how long
When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems. Limited records may persist briefly or be retained where the law requires:
- Payment/transaction records held by Apple or Google, and our billing provider (RevenueCat), under their own retention rules — we don’t control these.
- Backups and logs may retain residual copies for a short period before they rotate out, after which they are permanently gone.
- Anything we’re legally required to keep (e.g. for tax or fraud-prevention purposes) for the period the law requires.
